sado
Sado Island (Niigata, Japan) is a rural island in the Sea of Japan, shaped by long coastlines, small fishing towns, terraced fields, and steady winter light. I photographed it as a place where everyday life and landscape interlock—roads, breakwaters, harbors, and houses meeting wind, waves, and seasonal change. Rather than a destination, Sado becomes a quiet study of how people maintain a lived environment at the edge of the sea.
